Sir Chocolate and the Ice cream Rainbow Fairies story and cookboo

Welcome to part 6 of the fondant cat parade

The fondant cat parade tells the story in limericks of Dinah the Kitten, daughter of Daddy Grey and Mommy Cat, who likes to sleep and escape to Wonderland in her dreams. While in Wonderland, Dinah meets a variety of brightly coloured and fun fantasy kittens. The fondant cat parade illustrates some of the wonderful fondant art that appears in all the Sir Chocolate books.

Today, you will learn about Buttercup the Kitten.

Look out for part VII of the fondant cat parade tomorrow when you will meet Two-tone the Kitten. You can download the full illustrative PDF of the fondant cat parade here: https://robbiesinspiration.wordpress.com/dinah-in-wonderland-fondant-cat-parade/.

How to make an orange cake

Ingredients

125 grams butter

300 ml white sugar

4 eggs, separated

125 ml orange juice

5 ml granted orange zest

375 ml self-raising flour

2.5 ml salt

125 ml cornflour

Method

[Insert Slide 4 Day 6]

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit.

Measure the sugar into a mixing bowl. Add the softened butter and cream until the sugar is completely mixed into the butter. Separate the eggs and set the egg whites aside. Beat the egg yolks and add to the butter mixture. Add the sifted flour and cornflour, alternating with the orange juice and orange zest. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Pour into a prepared 23 cm round baking tin (I line the bottom with wax paper).

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown.

I used a double mixture to make the large rectangular cake in the picture which formed the base for the Dinah in Wonderland cake.

Join Sir Chocolate and Lady Sweet on a fun adventure to discover why the milkshake rain is pale and white.

AUTHOR BIO:

Hello, my name is Robbie, short for Roberta. I am an author with seven published children’s picture books in the Sir Chocolate books series for children aged 2 to 9 years old (co-authored with my son, Michael Cheadle), one published middle grade book in the Silly Willy series and one published preteen/young adult fictionalised biography about my mother’s life as a young girl growing up in an English town in Suffolk during World War II called While the Bombs Fell (co-authored with my mother, Elsie Hancy Eaton). All of my children’s book are written under Robbie Cheadle and are published by TSL Publications.

I also have a book of poetry called Open a new door, with fellow South African poet, Kim Blades.

I have recently branched into adult and young adult horror and supernatural writing and, in order to clearly differential my children’s books from my adult writing, I plan to publish these books under Roberta Eaton Cheadle. My first supernatural book published in that name, Through the Nethergate, is now available.

I have participated in a number of anthologies:

Two short stories in #1 Amazon bestselling anthology, Dark Visions, a collection of horror stories edited by Dan Alatorre under Robbie Cheadle;

Three short stories in Death Among Us, an anthology of murder mystery stories, edited by Stephen Bentley under Robbie Cheadle;

Three short stories in #1 Amazon bestselling anthology, Nightmareland, a collection of horror stories edited by Dan Alatorre under Robbie Cheadle; and

Two short stories in Whispers of the Past, an anthology of paranormal stories, edited by Kaye Lynne Booth under Roberta Eaton Cheadle.

    I am loving all these cute kittens and no unless it is fondant I will not be having a kitten…I guess I am destined to make an orange cake that is two recipes in a week the one from my daughter involves cooking two oranges and then blitzing the whole oranges and adding to the mix…Both sound nice…Another lovely post-Robbie a great book tour 🙂 x

    Buttercup is adorable, and I love Mommy Cat’s hair. Is this the cake you made for your husband’s birthday? It sounds yummy. I am going to give it a go, but have to figure out what cornflower is called here.

        You are absolutely right, Bette. I wish I had known about books like this, if there even were any, when my seeing eye son was young. He liked helping in the kitchen and I think we would have shared some wonderful experiences with a book like this.

      Hi Shirley, what do you use in the USA, ounces, pounds and pints?

      • Shirley Harris-Slaughter · June 22, 2020

        Robbie, we use both now and I never really caught on because we didn’t always have metrics in school when I was going. It was once just pounds, pints and ounces. They serve up both here because I don’t think I’m the only one who missed something. LOL.
